As happens every year, there will be a number of great New Years parties in Manhattan preceding and following the dropping of the ball at Times Square.

Some Great Restaurants To Party In Manhattan, Midtown, UES, UWS, West & East Village NYC

December 14, 2017 /Manhattan Restaurants NYC / Manhattan Buzz NYC. Continued.

The following is a short list of some of the restaurants we've been to that might provide you with good food, drinks and enough of a scene prior to heading out into the cold to watch the ball drop and the fireworks begin to welcome in the new year.

This is just the beginning and consider it an ongoing work in progress.


Algonquin Hotel Restaurant - Midtown NYC

The Algonquin Hotel has a storied past. It was once the watering hole for the writers and artists of the round table of the New Yorker editorial staff beginning in the 1920's. It maintains a traditional feel to it and serves an elegant lunch and dinner at 59th West 44th Street in Midtown, near the theater district.

The Algonquin also has a separate bar, which stays open late and is decorated with prints from its storied past.

The Royalton Bar - Theater District Hotel Bars in the Theater District Manhattan NYC

The Royalton is just across the street from the Algonquin. It has several bars, one with a fire place, one along the long corridor leading to the front desk, and one that's sunken in along the corridor.


The Viceroy Hotel & Bar - Midtown Hotel Bars in Midtown Manhattan NYC

The Viceroy Hotel & Bar is located on 120 West 57th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. It's only two blocks away from Central Park and easy walking distance to the subways.


El Rio Grande - New Years Parties in Midtown - Murray Hill NYC

El Rio Grande is a Tex Mex restaurant in Murray Hill on 38th Street & Third Avenue in midtown. The entrance is between 3rd Avenue and Lexington on the south side of the street in the ground floor of a large apartment building. El Rio Grande serves killer margaritas, thick crunchy chips and a pretty good Tex / Mex dinner.


Guastavinos Restaurant - Upper East Side UES New Years Parties Restaurants

Guastavino's restaurant is a cool modern restaurant located underneath the vaulted arches of the Queensboro Bridge at 59th Street in NYC's Midtown bordering on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. They rent the space but invariably there's a New Years Eve party, so do a search or call them.

Water Club Restaurant - New Years Restaurants & Parties Along the East River

How about the Water Club restaurant at the East River and about 35th Street? That's a nice one. There is also generally a boat or two departing from the nearby dock that hosts New Years Eve parties.

Bar 65 at the top of Rockefeller Center at 5th Avenue near 50th Street with it's art deco decor and beautiful vistas. While heavily touristed, it's worth the wait.

The China Grill is located on the ground floor of the CBS Black Rock Building at 60 West 53rd Street along 6th Avenue.


Casa Lever - New Years Restaurants & Parties in Midtown Manhattan

Casa Lever is located on the ground floor of historic Lever House, which was the first glass and steel skyscraper in Manhattan. The restaurant serves Italian food.

In the East Village there's Graffiti Food & Wine bar at 224 East 10th Street.
