October 24 - March 1, 2015: 100 Years in Post-Production: Resurrecting a Lost Landmark of Black Film History
Unrelease footage of a film shot in 1913 with an African American cast. Starring the legendary Caribbean American musical theater performer and recording artist Bert Williams (1874–1922), the abandoned film also includes Harlem-based entertainment pioneers Sam Lucas, Abbie Mitchell, and J. Leubrie Hill, along with members of his Darktown Follies stage company. All trying to take charge of their own narrative. First Floor.

Thru Spring 2015: Kandinsky Before Abstractionism 1901 - 1911
New exhibit about Kandinsky's early work in print making and conceptualization.

Ongoing: Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian House & Pavillion
This exhibit is about two Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings which were constructed on the site where the Guggenheim now stands. The buildings included a temporary pavilion made of glass, fiberboard, and pipe columns & a 1,700-square-foot, fully furnished, two-bedroom, model Usonian house representing Wright’s organic solution for modest, middle-class dwellings.
Ongoing: Thannhausers
Two generations of Thannhausers, who opened the Modern Gallerie in Munich in 1909, and a second in 1917 in Lucerne, promoted the arts in a manner comparable to Guggenheim. Due to the Nazi purge of 'degenerate art' they closed in 1937 and left for Paris, eventually settling in NYC.
